It also includes topics on how to generate a profile of acertain or proposed OHL route without even going to the site. The precision of theprofile over actual detailed survey, we can say 80%-90% depending on the location of the route itself.With the OHL Angle Point or Point of Inflections (AP's or PI's) as usually given,this will be our starting points of all the workings. But if it is not yet defined, let say if you are still on the planning stage, the best thing to do is to open your Google EarthProgram (it is a free software by Google - to download just google it anyway and youwill find the download link), and there you can define the best route of your OHL. Now with the aid of your PLS-CADD software by Power Line Systems, you can evenrefine that defined route to consider the route axis profile and the side profiles. ButHOW? with thousand of point needed this could not be done easily. But there aresome ways to do it simple and effortless.Going back to Google Earth, there is one feature that if you're defining a path, there isan option that you can also draw the profile with in the Google Earth itself, and this isthe information we need to extract and make it usable in the PLS CADD Software. Butin some countires like the US, where they have the USGS, topographical informationof a certain area in the US itself are readily available and can be used in the PLSCADD, however where areas that does not have such agencies that can provide suchinformation, the methods which we are trying to elaborate are essential and applicableanywhere around the world.These techniques, I have already proven effective and practical. It is because, youcan estimate the near actual quantity and height of your structures. You can alsoevaluate the type of soil as per the vegetation type where you spotted your structure.You can also evaluate if there are difficulties along your route (i.e. wide river crossing,valley crossing etc.).
